Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the GV Christian Guardians with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The Falcons were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Guardians, so the Falcons were just returning the favor.

While Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.

Lara Gavrilovic paced Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' offense, picking up 12 kills. Gavrilovic got some help from Analeigh Na and her 23 assists. Finally, Liana Sigel kept Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

GV Christian's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Sports Leadership & Management on the 21st. As for GV Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Virgin Valley on the 25th.
