After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Doral Academy, American Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Palm Beach Central Broncos. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won five in a row.

Isabella Benton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adrianna Layne, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Arianna Reynolds, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

American Heritage's record is now 9-1. As for Palm Beach Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Heritage will head out to square off against Schoolhouse Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palm Beach Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
