Softball Recap: Santiam Wins Going Away Against Culver

Santiam was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Culver on Tuesday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 12 matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Boston Flores made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Allen, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Haili Hendricks, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

With the victory, Santiam broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-9. As for Culver, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Santiam will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
