Hickman had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They took down the Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Lions 55-37. Given the Kewpies' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Lions are ranked 185th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hickman pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hickman will challenge Jefferson City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Confluence Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
