Volleyball Recap: Asheboro Starts Season with Victory at Home

Asheboro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Jordan-Matthews Jets 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-5, 25-12, 25-20.

Lia George paced Asheboro's offense, picking up 12 kills. George got some help from Kailey Brown and her eight assists. Cora Little controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Asheboro will welcome Wheatmore at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will venture away from home to face off against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
