Volleyball Recap: Chandler Prep Titans vs. Horizon Honors Eagles
After flying high against San Carlos last Tuesday, Chandler Prep came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Horizon Honors Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Titans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Tuesday.
The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Chandler Prep lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12.
Hannah Fox paced Chandler Prep's offense, picking up 11 kills. Fox got some help from Bria Ames and her 33 assists. Ames was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Zoi Gordon was nothing short of spectacular for Horizon Honors: she had 19 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Gordon a new career-high. Ariana Morrissey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Chandler Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Horizon Honors, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-20.
