Volleyball Recap: Chandler Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against San Carlos last Tuesday, Chandler Prep came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Horizon Honors Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Titans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Tuesday.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Chandler Prep lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Hannah Fox paced Chandler Prep's offense, picking up 11 kills. Fox got some help from Bria Ames and her 33 assists. Ames was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Zoi Gordon was nothing short of spectacular for Horizon Honors: she had 19 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Gordon a new career-high. Ariana Morrissey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Chandler Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Horizon Honors, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-20.

Chandler Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Arete Prep on the 22nd. As for Horizon Honors, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 22nd.
