Softball Recap: Dwyer Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pembroke Pines Charter on Thursday, Dwyer came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the West Nassau Warriors by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 8, 2024.

Haylee Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fatima Masri was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Dwyer's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for West Nassau, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6.

Dwyer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Jensen Beach on the 5th. As for West Nassau, they have also already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Keystone Heights on the 5th.
