Basketball Recap: Dekaney Comes Up Short

Dekaney suffered their biggest defeat since November 21st on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 58-31 loss at the hands of the North Shore Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 253rd).

North Shore found their leader in sophomore Da'Marcus Sloan, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Mayberry, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Dekaney is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10. As for North Shore, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Dekaney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-45 loss against Clear Falls on the 28th. As for North Shore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-49 defeat against La Porte on the 28th.
