Basketball Recap: Atwater's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Atwater posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 74-50 margin over the Roseville Tigers. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on five straight.

Peter Idialu had a dynamite game for Atwater, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Sylas Austin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Despite the loss, Roseville still got an impressive performance from Oreste Yong, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Yong a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dmarcis Gresham, who posted eight points.

Atwater's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Roseville, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.

Atwater wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-56 win against Cosumnes Oaks on the 3rd. As for Roseville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-59 victory against Yuba City on the 7th.
