Baseball Game Preview: Green County Dragons vs. Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees

The Green County Dragons will square off against the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Green County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

Green County had taken Washington County down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Green County fell just short of Washington County by a score of 9-8. The loss was the Dragons' first of the season.

Andrew Houk was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Houk is crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Houston Hodges, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Houk wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Green County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Bethlehem, as they earned their first away win of the season. They put the hurt on Kentucky Country Day with a sharp 16-6 victory on Saturday. The Eagles/Banshees' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bethlehem's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Green County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-2.

Green County took their victory against Bethlehem when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-4. Will Green County repeat their success, or does Bethlehem has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
