Volleyball Recap: Cheraw Comes Up Short

Cheraw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the North Central Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-11, 25-17.

Jaylaya Hudley paced Cheraw's offense, picking up six kills. Hudley got some help from Kalah Johnson and her nine assists. Johnson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cheraw's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for North Central, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cheraw is set to square off against their familiar foe Chesterfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, North Central will take on rival Andrew Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
