Recap: New Kent Trojans vs. Lafayette Rams

After flying high against the Poquoson Islanders last Friday, the New Kent Trojans came back down to earth. New Kent took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lafayette on Monday. New Kent was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lafayette apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

New Kent's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Diggs, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillon Mickles, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Lafayette was led to victory by Jarquez Garrett and Asa Fehrenbach. Garrett scored 18 points along with four steals, while Fehrenbach dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Jeremiah Harrison was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

New Kent's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Lafayette, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

New Kent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lafayette also has no future games currently scheduled.
