Baseball Game Preview: Willamina Bulldogs vs. Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers

For the second straight game, Willamina will face off against Blanchet Catholic. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Willamina, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Blanchet Catholic's (thus far) undefeated season.

Willamina lost 11-1 to Blanchet Catholic on Friday.

Willamina saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Konovalov, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Marcus Sickles also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Blanchet Catholic pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Willamina, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Willamina has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blanchet Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
