Basketball Recap: Dighton Takes a Loss

Dighton played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 47-25 to the Decatur Community Red Devils. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Decatur Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elsie Larson, who posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Larson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maria Rodriguez, who earned nine points and three steals.

Dighton now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Decatur Community, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Dighton will head out to face off against Otis-Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dighton is facing Otis-Bison at the right time seeing as Otis-Bison is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Decatur Community, they will be playing at home against Wallace County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
