Softball Recap: Cajon Comes Up Short

Cajon blew Redlands East Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Redlands East Valley got their revenge. The Cowboys fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The shutout was out of character for the Cowboys seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Neveah Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Cajon and nudges their season record down to 10-13. As for Redlands East Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-15.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cajon will challenge rival Redlands at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Redlands East Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
