Basketball Recap: Adysen Hoopes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pima over San Carlos

If Pima was feeling good fresh off their 61-11 takedown of Lincoln Prep last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pima Roughriders fell 49-40 to the San Carlos Braves on Friday. The Roughriders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Pima lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Adysen Hoopes, who posted seven points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Hoopes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kelsi Brimhall, who had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Pima has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-7 record this season. As for San Carlos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-4.

Pima didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-44 loss against Silver on the 1st. As for San Carlos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-68 defeat against Miami on the 3rd.
