Basketball Recap: Genesee Valley Comes Up Short

Genesee Valley lost against Honeoye back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Genesee Valley Jaguars lost 70-47 to the Honeoye Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 80th).

Genesee Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Honeoye, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genesee Valley will challenge Fillmore at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Honeoye, they will face off against Wayland-Cohocton at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Honeoye's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
