Basketball Recap: Hooper Academy Beats Macon-East Montgomery Academy for Their 15th Straight Victory

Hooper Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights by a score of 48-38. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Knights are ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Macon-East Montgomery Academy had strong showings from Micah Andrews, who posted nine points and seven rebounds, and Omarion Wilson, who earned 14 points and six rebounds. Wilson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Hooper Academy pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Hooper Academy will head out to challenge Lowndes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they will be playing at home against Southern Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
