Basketball Recap: Wellington-Napoleon Takes a Loss

Wellington-Napoleon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Lexington Minutemen 77-46. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while the Minutemen are ranked 138th).

Wellington-Napoleon's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lexington, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington-Napoleon will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Richmond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.1 points per game this season. As for Lexington, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Chrisman at 5:00 p.m. on December 30th.
