Baseball Recap: South Davidson Wildcats vs. North Rowan Cavaliers

South Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Rowan Cavaliers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

South Davidson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ronnie Benfield, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Benfield a new career-high. Zander Floyd also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

South Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Rowan, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Davidson will square off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for North Rowan, they will face off against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
