Basketball Recap: Father Lopez Takes a Loss

Father Lopez lost against Flagler Palm Coast back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Father Lopez Green Wave were beaten by the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs 71-25. The Green Wave just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Father Lopez lost, don't look at Addy Fulton. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points. That was a full 52% of Father Lopez's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Flagler Palm Coast found their leader in sophomore Ava Works, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Works has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierra Clark, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Father Lopez's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Father Lopez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-16 defeat against New Smyrna Beach on the 23rd. Flagler Palm Coast has also already played their next game, a 48-42 loss against Mainland on the 27th.
