Baseball Game Preview: Mercedes Tigers vs. Porter Cowboys

Mercedes is 2-8 against Porter since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mercedes Tigers will square off against the Porter Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Mercedes has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mercedes took on Weslaco East on Friday. Mercedes lost 17-0 to Weslaco East. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Porter came up short against Donna on Friday and fell 9-4.

Mercedes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Mercedes couldn't quite get it done against Porter when the teams last played back in February of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can Mercedes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
