Rockcastle County posted their closest victory since May 14, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Clay County Tigers 10-9. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2021.

The team relied heavily on Phoenix Pittman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Thacker, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Rockcastle County's record now sits at 3-4. As for Clay County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockcastle County will challenge Estill County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clay County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Clay County Tigers duke it out with Breathitt County Bobcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
