Preview: JAG Jaguars vs. Stanhope Elmore Mustangs
The JAG Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. JAG is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, JAG was the victim of a tough 73-48 defeat at the hands of Park Crossing. While losing is never fun, JAG can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Park Crossing is ranked 26th).
Meanwhile, even though Chilton County scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Stanhope Elmore still came out on top. Stanhope Elmore had just enough and edged Chilton County out 60-57.
JAG bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Stanhope Elmore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
JAG was taken down by Stanhope Elmore 52-22 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can JAG avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
