Preview: Bryan Golden Bears vs. Liberty Center Tigers

Bryan is 8-0 against the Tigers since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Bryan Golden Bears will be staying on the road to face off against the Liberty Center Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Bryan didn't have too much trouble with the Bulldogs on the road as they won 62-44. Given Bryan's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 509th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Liberty Center had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.6 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-35 victory over Hicksville on the road. Liberty Center has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Bryan pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Liberty Center, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 15-1.

Bryan beat the Tigers 54-45 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bryan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
