Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Big Walnut

Big Walnut had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Grove City Greyhounds. This was payback for the Golden Eagles, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Big Walnut easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16.

Abi Swisher paced Big Walnut's offense, picking up ten kills. Swisher got some help from Audrey Coulson and her 23 assists. Coulson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Big Walnut's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Grove City, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Big Walnut will venture away from home to square off against Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Golden Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. Grove City has already played their next matchup (against St. Francis DeSales), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
