The Holy Cross Knights didn't have quite enough to beat the Geneva Eagles on Friday and fell 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

Genesis Medrano was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Michaela Rivera and Aviana Garcia did some serious damage despite the final result: Rivera scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Garcia scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
