Basketball Game Preview: Utica Academy of Science Atoms vs. Proctor Raiders

The Utica Academy of Science Atoms will challenge the Proctor Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Utica Academy of Science was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to Little Falls.

Meanwhile, Proctor had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 73-55 win over the Warriors. The Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Proctor pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Utica Academy of Science, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Utica Academy of Science came up short against Proctor in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 57-46. Can Utica Academy of Science avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
