Basketball Recap: Eastside College Prep Takes a Loss

If Eastside College Prep was feeling good fresh off their 61-27 takedown of More on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eastside College Prep Panthers were outmatched by the Priory Panthers and fell 79-43. The defeat continues a trend for Eastside College Prep in their matchups with Priory: they've now lost five in a row.

Leading Priory to victory were Teddy Xanthopoulos and Mate Palotai. Xanthopoulos went 9 for 11 en route to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Palotai went 9 of 10 on his way to 18 points and eight boards. That's the most points Xanthopoulos has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasten Eggers, who posted nine points.

Eastside College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Priory, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside College Prep has already played their next game (against Mountain View Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Priory will be playing at home against Sacred Heart Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Priory's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
