Basketball Recap: Summers County Bobcats vs. James Monroe Mavericks

Summers County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 59-40 bruising from the James Monroe Mavericks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-47 last Thursday.

It was another big night for Maggie Boroski, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 steals for James Monroe. The contest was Boroski's third in a row with at least ten points. Mya Dunlap was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points.

Summers County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for James Monroe, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Summers County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Greenbrier West at 7:30 p.m. Greenbrier West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Summers County likes a good challenge. As for James Monroe, they will face off against Wyoming East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
