Basketball Recap: Paden City Comes Up Short

Paden City lost against Parkersburg Christian back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Paden City Wildcats were dealt a 65-28 defeat at the hands of Parkersburg Christian. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkersburg Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shianne Posey, who went 13-for-22 to rack up 26 points and four steals. Parkersburg Christian is 2-1 when Posey posts 20 or more points, but 8-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzi Lucas, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Paden City and nudges their season record down to 5-12. As for Parkersburg Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-14.

Paden City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkersburg Christian, they will challenge Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 28th. Parkersburg Christian is facing Heritage Christian at the right time seeing as Heritage Christian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
