Basketball Recap: Southwest Onslow Extends Winning Streak to Five

If James Kenan wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Southwest Onslow, they should've done a better job of containing Malekhi Hutchinson. The Southwest Onslow Stallions breezed by the James Kenan Tigers to the tune of 88-58 on Friday thanks in part to Hutchinson, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Rue Chapman, who posted eight points along with eight boards and three blocks. Chapman is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Southwest Onslow, bringing their record for this year to 12-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for James Kenan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Southwest Onslow has already played their next contest, a 68-57 win against Eastern Randolph on the 18th. As for James Kenan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-53 loss against Wallace-Rose Hill on the 27th.
