Softball Game Preview: Methacton Warriors vs. Perkiomen Valley Vikings

The Methacton Warriors will square off against the Perkiomen Valley Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Methacton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Wednesday, Methacton had just enough and edged out Boyertown 10-8. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Perkiomen Valley made easy work of Merion Mercy Academy on Friday and carried off an 11-2 victory.

Aubrey Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

At the plate, Nina Marsilio was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Olivia Sharkey, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Perkiomen Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Merion Mercy Academy only posted a batting average of .100.

Perkiomen Valley has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Methacton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
