Recap: Heard County Braves vs. Rockmart Yellowjackets
The Heard County Braves pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 79-63 to Rockmart. Heard County lost against Rockmart in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 70-65 score last time.
Rockmart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Treylin Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Rockmart's points. Another player making a difference was Samuel Johnson, who scored 19 points.
Heard County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Rockmart, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heard County will square off against Mt. Zion at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Zion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Heard County is ranked 111th). As for Rockmart, they will head out on the road to face off against Gordon Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
