Springfield extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Springfield Senators vs. Rochester Rockets

The Springfield Senators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Rochester. Springfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rochester apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Rochester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Cox led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Canon Bruce, who scored ten points along with three steals and two blocks.

Springfield's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Rochester, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

Springfield will head out on the road to challenge Springfield Southeast at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rochester, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Glenwood at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. Glenwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rochester in Illinois (Glenwood is ranked 71st, while Rochester is ranked 246th).
