Football Recap: First Baptist School Hurricanes vs. Porter-Gaud Cyclones

First Baptist School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 59-35 to the Porter-Gaud Cyclones. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Cyclones are ranked 94th).

Despite the loss, First Baptist School still got an impressive performance from Tanner Swisher, who threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown. Walker Traxler was another key player, picking up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

As for Porter-Gaud, they will host Savannah Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Porter-Gaud will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
