Basketball Recap: Queen's Grant Skates Past Sugar Creek Charter with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Queen's Grant). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging an 80-16 victory over the Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Queen's Grant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Misa Garris, who shot 83% from the field to rack up 23 points and eight steals. Thanks to that strong game, Garris now owns an excellent 48.2% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Za'Miya Bynum, who went 8-for-11 en route to 19 points and four steals.

The win was the fifth in a row for Queen's Grant, bringing their record up to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points on average over those games. As for Sugar Creek Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Queen's Grant will take on Carolina International in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sugar Creek Charter and Jackson Day will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mariners' defense has only allowed 19.8 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
