Recap: Apollo Hawks vs. Coconino Panthers

The Apollo Hawks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-53 win over Coconino. For Apollo, this counts as revenge for the 65-50 loss Coconino walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Apollo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Moreno, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was DeQuean Bryant, who scored 21 points.

Apollo's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Coconino, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apollo will take on Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Sunrise Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday. As for Coconino, they will be playing at home against Bradshaw Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bradshaw Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coconino in Arizona (Bradshaw Mountain is ranked 41st, while Coconino is ranked 158th).
