Football Game Preview: Citrus Hill Hawks vs. Perris Panthers

The Citrus Hill Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Perris Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Citrus Hill's defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so Perris' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Citrus Hill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 44 points back in September, they were much more limited against Moreno Valley on Friday. They were beaten by the Vikings 42-7. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Perris, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They secured a 13-9 W over Lakeside on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The critical scores for Perris came from Eriberto Ochoa and Dominic Martin.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed seven in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Martin, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Citrus Hill, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Citrus Hill suffered a grim 28-3 defeat to Perris in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
