Basketball Recap: J.F. Webb Warriors vs. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans
If J.F. Webb was feeling good fresh off their 71-49 takedown of Granville Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The J.F. Webb Warriors were beaten by the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans 99-52 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 79-28 back in January.

Daniel Wright and Kaylin Thorpe certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Wright went 5-for-12 to rack up 18 points and seven rebounds, while Thorpe posted 16 points and six boards. Wright has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaydan Hester, who earned seven points.
Even though they lost, J.F. Webb smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was led to victory by Jackson Keith and AJ Morman Jr.. Keith went 9-for-16 en route to 23 points and seven boards, while Morman Jr. went 9-for-12 on his way to 25 points and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Ashley, who put up nine points in addition to five assists and three steals.
