Baseball Recap: Standing Bear Comes Up Short

Standing Bear was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln Northwest Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 last Tuesday.

Kameron Foster was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Standing Bear's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lincoln Northwest, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Standing Bear is set to challenge their familiar foe Columbus at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lincoln Northwest will square off against rival Holdrege at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
