Volleyball Recap: Puxico Indians vs. Scott City Rams
If Puxico was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Charleston last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Puxico Indians lost 3-0 to the Scott City Rams on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19, 25-15.
Laney Porter paced Puxico's offense, picking up 13 kills. Porter got some help from
Gracie Campbell and her two assists. Finally, Porter was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Scott City can attribute much of their success to Journey Black, who had eight digs and two aces.
Puxico has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16-2 record this season. As for Scott City, they pushed their record up to 21-10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Puxico does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Scott City, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against St. Vincent on the 26th.
