St. Louis High School Football Rankings

Who's up and who's down

There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Carlinville's senior Jarret Easterday, an offensive menace who scored seven total TDs.

No Stoppin 'Em

The MaxPreps rankings indicated that Belleville West would come out the decided victor last week, and the rankings were spot on. It took its contest against Collinsville by a conclusive 64 - 43 score. The Collinsville defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 51 points per game), and Belleville West took advantage of that. The combined 107 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.

This Week's Big Showdown

One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between East St. Louis (ranked 11th in IL) and Washington (ranked 4th in OH). East St. Louis had a chance to win but let Washington get away with a 46 - 40 victory. The defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Treven Swingler, who rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns.
