Incline and Battle Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Incline Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Battle Mountain Longhorns at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Incline has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Battle Mountain will come in with four straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-13, which was the final score in Incline's tilt against West Wendover on Friday.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Battle Mountain beat North Tahoe 35-29 on Friday.

Battle Mountain's win came from a few key players Incline will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Heaven Martinez, who posted eight points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Yadira Vazquez, who put up four points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Battle Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Battle Mountain pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points over those games. As for Incline, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Incline was dealt a bruising 47-10 loss at the hands of Battle Mountain in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Battle Mountain's Paitynn Johns, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards. Now that Incline knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
