Basketball Game Preview: Cabrini Monarchs vs. Lutheran North Mustangs

Cabrini is 2-7 against Lutheran North since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cabrini Monarchs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lutheran North Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Lutheran North took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cabrini, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cabrini beat Bishop Foley 49-44. Given the Monarchs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Ventures are ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lutheran North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 61-51 to St. Catherine of Siena Academy.

Cabrini's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Lutheran North, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Cabrini took their victory against Lutheran North in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 52-32. Will Cabrini repeat their success, or does Lutheran North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
