Soccer Game Preview: Carmel vs. Marist

The Carmel Corsairs will head out to face off against the Marist RedHawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Carmel is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Niles Notre Dame just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Dons by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Carmel came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Niles Notre Dame are ranked 226th).

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Marist's offense. They lost 3-0 to St. Patrick on Tuesday.

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-1.
