Baseball Game Preview: Detroit Eagles vs. Bland Tigers

The Detroit Eagles will take on the Bland Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Detroit will be strutting in after a victory while Bland will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Detroit made easy work of Avery and carried off a 13-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of S & S Consolidated. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Bland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Elfers, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Elfers a new career-high in stolen bases.

Detroit pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.7 runs. As for Bland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Detroit came out on top in a nail-biter against Bland in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, sneaking past 4-2. Does Detroit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
