After both having extra time off, the Making Waves Academy Marlins and the Cornerstone Christian Cougars will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Making Waves Academy sitting on six straight wins and Cornerstone Christian on three.

Making Waves Academy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Contra Costa Christian on Tuesday. Making Waves Academy was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Contra Costa Christian.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-18, 26-24, 29-27.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian hadn't done well against Fremont Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian had just enough and edged out Fremont Christian 3-2.

Making Waves Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Cornerstone Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Making Waves Academy's way against Cornerstone Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Making Waves Academy made off with a 3-0 victory.
