Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Beats Evansville Memorial for Their Second Straight Victory

Evansville Memorial came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Mt. Vernon, but Hannah McNeece wouldn't allow it. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday for which the team can thank McNeece, who had 35 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Mt. Vernon got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 30-28, 18-25, 25-21.

The win made it two in a row for Mt. Vernon and bumps their season record up to 7-12. As for Evansville Memorial, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Evansville Central on the 25th. As for Evansville Memorial, they will challenge Champaign Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
