Softball Recap: Nashoba Regional Drops Highest Score of Season Against Marlborough

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nashoba Regional). They blew past the Marlborough Panthers 19-7 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-1 back in April.

Julia Smith was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Hughes, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Nashoba Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive matches.

Nashoba Regional now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Marlborough, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Nashoba Regional will welcome St. Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marlborough, they will venture away from home to take on Oakmont Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
